Substrate Integrated Waveguide (siw) Monopole Slot Antenna Array

A double‐sided substrate‐integrated waveguide (SIW) slot antenna with stripline feed, as 4‐by‐4 SIW slot array antenna, operating in millimeter‐waves bands is proposed. A single-layer substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) monopolar ring-slot antenna is proposed in this letter. It is based on a combination of a circular ring-slot etched in the SIW top wall and a set of shorting vias placed concentrically between the area bounded by the ring and the SIW bottom wall. Thanks to this configuration, a monopole-like radiation pattern is obtained. The slot antenna and the feeding microstrip line were synthesized on a single substrate. One slot is required in SIW Antenna to achieve the high performances in this kind of design. SIW Slot Antenna Designs. SIW Slot array antenna.  Abstract 

 A Ka-band compact single layer substrate integrated waveguide monopulse slot array antenna for the application of monopulse tracking system is designed, fabricated and measured. The feeding network as well as the monopulse comparator and the subarrays is integrated on the same dielectric with the size of 140 mmtimes130 mm. The bandwidth ( S11 < -10 dB) of the antenna is 7.39% with an operating frequency range of 30.80 GHz-33.14 GHz. The maximum gain at 31.5 GHz is 18.74 dB and the maximum null depth is -46.3 dB. The sum- and difference patterns of three planes: H-plane, E-plane and diagonal plane are measured and presented.
